A Homeward Practice
Daily Reflection
Noticing God in your day.
Set aside seven to ten quiet minutes near the end of the day. This practice is rooted in the ancient Examen. It is not a scorecard. It is a way of learning your life with God.
Arrive
Place your feet on the floor. Let your shoulders soften. Take one slow breath.
Pray: “God of love, help me see this day with you.”Give Thanks
Name one gift from the day. Make it small and concrete: a face, a meal, a moment of beauty, a completed task, or needed rest.
Receive the gift again for one breath.Notice
Replay the day gently. Where did you feel open, alive, loving, or free? Where did you tighten, hide, rush, or resist love?
Notice without arguing with or condemning yourself.Receive
Speak honestly with God. Receive mercy where you missed the way and delight where grace was present.
You are held before you improve.Choose
Name one small response for tomorrow: a conversation, boundary, apology, act of care, or moment of attention.
Close with: “Jesus, help me practice love here.”
Try this for seven evenings.
Look for patterns of grace, resistance, fatigue, desire, and love - not a perfect day.
